“Don’t worry if you’re making waves just by being yourself. The moon does it all the time.”
-Scott Stabile

ApothoGothic turns two years old on May 4th! We are so excited and have loved every minute of the journey so far. We have been planning some new and exciting things for the upcoming year that we can't wait to share with you! In addition to our "birthday" being in May, so is the Flower Moon in Scorpio. Because its themes are shared with our birthday, we thought we'd take a walk through the meanings of this moon and lay out some of our favorite full moon activities.
The Flower Moon is named such because of the large amount of flowers that bloom in May. More than that, this moon shows us what parts of our lives deserve our attention and which parts can - at least temporarily - fall by the wayside. It's time to get rid of the extra things that take up our time and zero in on what we're developing. The major themes of this moon are renewal, growth, and hope.

This moon is all about digging deep and getting to the root of your emotions. That kind of deep-digging always brings up some uncomfortable feelings, as it often has us questioning our own beliefs and reasonings. It's because of the depth of the work being done that this is one of the most transformative full moons of the year, allowing us to celebrate how we've blossomed. Honor that depth and your ability to work through challenging times.
Getting to the root of our emotions doesn't just show up with the moon - it requires us to show up and do the work that will allow us to blossom on the other side. If you're looking for some full moon work ideas, we've provided a list below:
Full Moon Activity Ideas
Full Moon Bath - Soak in the tub with some bath salts to cleanse and purify your physical and energetic bodies. Visualize the water carrying away negativity and old patterns.
Journaling - Spend time writing about what you'd like to release during this full moon cycle. Once you're finished writing, read it over once, then burn it (in a fire-save location).
Dancing - Turn on some music and get moving! Drumming is especially effective for releasing emotions and blocked energy. Stomp around and let it out!
Time in Nature - Get outside and spend time in nature, specifically bathing in full moon light. This is even more effective if you ground while outside (bare feet on the ground).
These are just a few of the things we love to do around the full moon - use these ideas if you'd like, or use some of your own. Being that there is a full moon every 28 days, that gives us plenty of opportunities throughout the year to let go, recharge, and set things back on course. What do you do around the full moon?
