July hums with fullness. The air is thick with sun and sound, fruit hangs heavy on the branch, and the days stretch long and golden. But underneath all that brightness is something slower. Deeper. Rooted.
This is the part of becoming that isn’t loud or visible. It’s the tending. The feeding. The quiet return to the things that hold you steady, especially when everything else feels uncertain.
We often associate growth with movement, but this month asks us to dig in. To remember that your strength isn’t just in how high you reach, but in how deep you’re willing to go.
Why We Nourish Our Roots
Not everything that sustains us is exciting. Some of the most life-giving practices are small, slow, and repetitive. The morning cup of tea. The scent you put on before you begin your day. The walk you take when your mind feels tangled. The voice you call when your heart feels lonely.
These rituals, no matter how simple, become root systems. They tether us. Ground us. Remind us who we are when the winds blow hard.
We always know when we’re in need of grounding because we find ourselves instinctively reaching for the same few things: a warm scent that smells like home, a particular playlist, or a long conversation with each other. It’s not about fixing anything - it’s just about coming back to something familiar and real. Something that reminds us we’re not lost. Just growing beneath the surface.
This month is about choosing what feeds you. And letting go of what doesn’t.

A Return to Self
🌳 What You’ll Need:
A journal
Something that feels like a “comfort object” (a favorite mug, scarf, book, scent, etc.)
20–30 minutes of uninterrupted time
🌳 Steps:
Settle in with your comfort item and take a few deep breaths.
Ask yourself: What has nourished me lately?
Then ask: What has drained me?
Make two lists - no need to judge or fix. Just name.
Circle two things from your “nourished” list that you want to lean into more.
Write down one way you can make space for each this week.
Let this practice remind you that small shifts matter and that you don’t have to do everything at once.
Journal Prompts
• What practices make me feel safe and steady?
• Who (or what) helps me return to myself?
• What would it feel like to create a rhythm of nourishment - instead of just surviving?
Scent Suggestions for July
Light a candle, mist your space, or anoint your wrists before journaling. Let the scent root you.
🌾 Patchouli & Bergamot - grounding and citrus-bright
🌙 Frankincense & Rose - sacred and soft
🌱 Basil & Lavender - fresh, herbal, calming
Let July be your invitation to come home to what matters most. Not the flash. Not the performance. Just the quiet, brave act of feeding your roots so you can rise stronger. The bloom is coming...but first, the deep work of remembering.
