August arrives like a golden hush. The sun hangs heavy in the sky, the fields ripen under its heat, and the world begins to turn ever so slightly toward autumn. This is the season of ripeness - of culmination. Of listening. Of choosing.
Most of all...of following your heart.
Why is it so hard to follow what we feel?
We’re taught to listen to everything but our hearts. We’re taught to weigh the sensible choice, to please others, to take the safe road. We tell ourselves the heart is impulsive, foolish, and impractical. But what if it’s the opposite? What if your heart - quiet and steady - is the only thing that truly knows what you’re here for? What if ignoring it is the real mistake?
Following your heart is not about chasing whims. It’s about trust. It’s about choosing what aligns, even if it scares you...even if no one else understands.
Listening to the whispers
You don’t need a roaring bonfire of clarity to follow your heart. You only need to hear the quiet crackle of your own ember.
Tonight - or whenever you can - try this:
🌙 Sit somewhere still. Light a candle if you’d like.
🌙 Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly. Close your eyes.
🌙 Take three slow, deep breaths. Feel the rise and fall of your chest.
🌙 Think of a decision, a desire, or a crossroads you’ve been circling.
🌙Ask yourself: What would I choose if I trusted myself completely?
Don’t rush to answer. Let the whispers come. Write down whatever arises, even if it doesn’t make sense yet.

Journal Prompts
If you’d like to go deeper, here are three prompts to explore:
✨ What does my heart truly want right now?
✨ What stories have I been told about what I should want - and do they feel true?
✨ What would I choose if fear weren’t a factor?
When you feel yourself wavering, remember: your heart already knows. One of our favorite ways to anchor into courage is through scent - a quiet ritual that reminds you what’s real. This month, we suggest something heart-centered: a blend of rose, cedarwood, and bergamot - grounding yet bright, like the wild summer sun in a quiet grove.
Whatever you choose, may you follow what feels alive inside you - Even if it’s messy. Even if it scares you. Even if it leads somewhere unknown.
Because this is what August asks of you:
to ripen into who you already are.
To trust the way forward.
To follow your heart.
